Project 07: Frankenstein - DUE on Wednesday October 10th, 11:59pm
Using collage techniques (make a whole from disparate, unrelated parts) and the After Effects Puppet Tool, create your own monster (or mother or ex-boyfriend or your favorite nightmare). Maybe the monster has some friends? Maybe the monster is misunderstood? Maybe the monster has it's own Deep Questions About The Universe?
Final Output
Your final movie should start with one second of black and end with one second of black. The entire piece should be a minimum of 1 minute long and no longer than 3 minutes long. Include a soundscape that you've made. A story? An ominous hum? A story that's cut up and unintelligible with an ominous hum or maybe not an ominous hum at all? Maybe it's just all sweet tinkerbells? Upload it to your Youtube or Vimeo site and send Deke the link.
Some Thoughts
Once my dad scared the shit out of me. He didn't mean to. I used to have a bedroom that was in the corner of the house. It felt kind of separated from everybody else in the house, even though it wasn't a very big house. One night I was studying, right next to a window. And dad was outside and he thought it would be a great idea to loom up in the window and go "ooooaAAAAHHHHHH!" Like I said. Scary. He was very sorry that he scared me so much.
And What About This?
Mary Shelley. Frankenstein. Or Bram Stoker. Dracula. They did a stage version of Dracula in London in 1911. They had over 30 people in the audience faint from terror. Can you imagine this?
